Underfloor Insulation Options

I am trying to decide about underfloor insulation options that are covered by the EECA grant. I have had a couple of quotes and a polyester option (Warmafloor) has come in the cheapest – followed by a more dense polyester Novafloor, then Tarra Lana which I think is a wool form and the most expensive Pink Batts Snugfloor. However, I am wondering if the polyester is the best value for money option and what the downsides are with it (ie: will moisture damage make it ineffective & are there likely to be problems with mice). I was also wondering about the benefits, or not, of polythene underfloor moisture barrier. I have had a quote on this also, but apparently it’s not covered by the grant. I would appreciate any advice regarding the most effective, value for money options. Thanks!

Moisture barrier will be covered under the scheme, and you will need to have the EECA checklist completed by your provider. Make sure you check the list when the provider goes through your home to see what can be done.

    Cheers
