Sash windows

Back in the UK there was a system called ventrolla which was used to draught proof sash windows. It involved a narrow channel being routed out around the edges of each window, and something similar to the draught excluder brushes for doors being fitted. Does this exist in NZ, and what is it called?

Has there been a respknse to this as I would like to find a product/ system that I can use to stop draughts in our sash windows.
