Heat Pump installation community services card subsidies

Does anyone know if there are subsidies or discounts for community services card holders if wanting to install one in their property? The person wanting to install does not have an open fire in the property so they don’t qualify for the free deal Council is offering.
Thanks for help on this.

I have just enquired about putting bats in our family bach at Waihi Beach. I will be buying the bach off my brother and sister as part of an inheritance and I will be upgrading the bach before we take possession. I have a community services card and am interested in putting in heat pump as well as the bats (if they are not already there). I am unsure of the age of the bach but it would around 25 – 28 years old. Do I get the bats put in first, then apply for the heat pump subsidy?
Thank youEfficiency Dude, July 20th, 2009 on 10:07 pm
Hi you will find that you can’t upgrade holiday homes under the energywise scheme.

Hi there,
Ye, there is funding available under the EECA EnergyWise programme for middle income householders (gross annual income < $100,000 for one or two earners, or under $140,000 for three or more). This funding can be either a 33% cash grant (up to a maximum of $1125) or an interest free loan (interest paid up to a maximum of $1400).
The EECA site http://www.energywise.govt.nz/funding-available/insulation-and-clean-heating/funding-for-middle-income-homeownersgives more details of this scheme.
The funding can be used to help with the purchase of either a heatpump, wood or wood pellet burner, or flued gas heater. However, you must use this funding to bring the ceiling and/or underfloor insulation up to the current building code standard (as much as possible), before using the funding to help purchase a heater.
Note that if you have a community services card, you may be able to apply under the lower income households programme for a grant towards improving the insulation.
I hope this helps clarify the situation. If you would like to discuss your individual situation further, please feel free to call us on 0800 388 588.
