I just purchased a house. This house currently has gas cooking and waterhoter. It also has a heatpump. I would like to know which Gas/ electricity Company is the best for me. I would also appreciate some tips as to energy saving. Thanks

It is always worthwhile checking on the Consumer NZ “Powerswitch” site to see if you are with the best retailer and energy plan for your needs. The site now includes both gas and electricity options. If you would like to speak to one of our edvisors about energy saving options for your individual circumstances, please do feel free to call on 0800 388 588 or email using our “Ask your Local Advisor” link. Alternatively,if you just want general energy saving ideas EECA’s website http://www.energywise.org.nz is worth a look.

You could buy an Enegry Monitor to really understand which devices are using electricity. Typically you can save upto 20% on you electric bill by just changing your usage habits. The following link is a good product which will pay for itself in no time.
