Decreasing power bills with the arrival of spring?

Traditionally, we could all expect power bills to reduce once daylight saving and warmer weather arrived. However, higher power prices, the use of heat pumps for summer cooling and old inefficient fridges are some reasons why power bills might stay high. How high has your power bill been recently? My power bills have stayed high because we have a baby in the house and no curtains.
