Hi there I got two quotations form different companies for installing underfloor insulation. One includes semi rigid polyester board which friction fits between the floor joists, plus Moisture Barrier Underfloor.Another one includes snugfloor only. I asked the 2rd company why they would not install moisture barrier for me,they said snugfloor already had the function against moisture, could you give me some suggestion? The land under floor is pretty dry and I prefer using the snugfloor? Thanks?

Moisture barriers under your house are not only to stop moisture direct on your timber flooring but also the exposed joists as these will transfer the moisture and cold up to your flooring. If you have good ventilation around the perimeter of your house and in the winter the ground on average is dry under your house it is ok to go without the ground vapour barrier, make sure if you have a concrete perimeter that all vents are unobstructed to help give natural ventilation.
